Carlos Sapão Seminar at Castroviejo BJJ 3rd June 2025

This past Tuesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Carlos Sapão to Castroviejo BJJ Academy for a special seminar—first with our teens, then with the adults.

Carlos and Professor Leandro Castroviejo go way back—long-time friends on and off the mats—so this seminar had an extra layer of warmth and camaraderie. It felt more like a family reunion than a formal event, and the energy on the mats reflected that.

Sapão’s teaching style was clear, dynamic, and full of wisdom. He focused on fluid movement, helping us understand how to transition with ease rather than muscle through positions. He also emphasised the importance of learning from our mistakes, encouraging us to embrace the process and keep improving through reflection and reps.

The teens got a tailored session full of movement and motivation, while the adults enjoyed a deeper dive into concepts and flow. Everyone walked away sharper, sweatier, and smiling.
